“That little thing he left. The one that we couldn’t get out. That’s the link.” She said.

He looked shaken, “How could I have missed it though?”

“Because he wasn’t using it when you looked.” She said, only really guessing. “You saw it. You just didn’t know what it was.”

“Then I should have done more investigation! I should have poked around more!”

“Dad, what’s done is done. He’s in there. It’s not your fault.”

He shook his head, “It should be! I’m your father! I have to protect you!”

Jenny stopped, wrapping her arms around him. “Dad, please don’t. I can’t have you feeling guilty for my mistakes.” She buried her face in his neck.

He stopped and wrapped his arms around her, hugging her tight. “I’m sorry.”

“I love you, dad.” She was vaguely aware that they were on her front porch.

"I love you too," he murmured softly, kissing her cheek. "Come on. Lets tell Ianto."

“Doctor!” Amy shouted as she spotted him in the TARDIS. “I feel like I haven’t seen you in ages. What’ve you been up to?”

“Amy!” He smiled, waving at her. “Oh a little bit of this and a little bit of that. What about you Mrs. Pond?”

“I…

“They are.” Amy nodded. “So I have something interesting to tell you.”

“You found a tribble!?”

“No? Whats a tribble? I wanted to tell you that I might be pregnant.”

He made a sound of delight and hugged her. “That is amazing!”

“I got a job and I;ve been spending a lot of time with Rory. We talked about a lot.” Amy smiled at the thought. “I’ve met a few people too Jack, Jenny, Ianto, Eirian, and John.”

"Aren’t they lovely people?" He asked with a bright smile.

“But it is,” he whimpered. “If I had just kept a better eye on her, he never would have taken her.”

“He would have found a way. If I know where she is, he knows where she is.” She buried her face in his chest, “I should have warned her.”

He felt miserable, “I don’t know where he took her.” The Doctor’s arms went around her and he cradled her close.

“I…I need to tell Ianto. I…”

The Doctor flinched. “I should tell him. It was my fault.”

“No. I should go home. I should tell him.” Jenny pulled away slightly, her eyes streaming.

“Let me walk you home at least,” he whispered, avoiding her eyes.

She nodded, “I don’t think I’ll make it alone.” She admitted.

The Doctor stood with her, moving carefully. “Come on. Lets get you home.”

Jenny leaned against him, her tiny body suddenly very heavy. They had walked a fair way before she finally said, “He can see inside my head. That something he left in my mind, it’s a link. He can see everything I think, everything I see, everything I do. I should have told you earlier.”

The Doctor tensed, “But…I didn’t see anything when I looked into your mind.”

“That little thing he left. The one that we couldn’t get out. That’s the link.” She said.

He looked shaken, “How could I have missed it though?”
